Although tuition is only $4 per year, many parents cannot afford even that, and pay by volunteering their labor. The school building and additions were built by Sassier residents, and the desks and furniture were constructed by local carpenters.

Many ZANMI SASYE—PARTNERS WITH SASSIER members participate in the "Adopt a Student Program." A donation of $100 provides a student's books, supplies, teacher's salaries, daily hot meal, and uniform material for a full school year.
